How to know if Heli-ski is for you?
Does the thought of your ski ability stop you from booking your big day out, in the powder playground of your dreams? You don’t have to be an extreme skier to have fun in the backcountry.
Does the thought of your ski ability stop you from booking your big day out, in the Powder Playground of your Dreams?
Believe it or not, most of our guests are not expert/advanced skiers. There’s a big misconception out there that you must be an extreme skier to have fun in the backcountry. We want to debunk that myth. Making sure no-one is missing out on what could be an incredible day out, over a little bit of imposter syndrome.
Heli-skiing is all about skiing exceptional snow that you may not find on your own or on the ski field. We specialise in delivering playful terrain with unmatched variety. Boasting glorious open powder fields and sweeping bowls for all abilities, alongside more advanced gullies and pipes.
Ensuring our guests enjoy their day out is a big priority for us. When you enquire or book a Heli-ski, we’ll always have a chat with you to determine your ski ability. Our bookings team are experienced snow-lovers, with all the right questions to make sure this is the right decision for you. We also have a quick and easy ability quiz (here) that we’ll ask you to complete when booking.
With a few questions and understanding your ability, we’ll be able to tailor an awesome backcountry experience for you, even if it’s your fist time. We all have to start somewhere!
In short, if you can:
- Ski any intermediate/ blue trail on your favourite ski field.
- Link your turns on steeper slopes.
- Can handle variety in snow conditions.
- Have a relatively good level of fitness.
You will be good to go!
Our expert guides will always take the first run easy to get a good grip on everyone’s ability, adjusting the day from there. Rest assured, there’s something for everyone!
