Hugh Barnard
Meet Hugh, heli-ski veteran with decades of experience, global guiding credentials, and unmatched passion for exploring New Zealand’s most remote and exhilarating alpine terrain.
Hugh is in his 32nd season with Harris Mountains Heli-Ski. Before becoming manager of HMH 15 years ago, Hugh was the Chief Guide. He is an IFMGA internationally qualified guide. Hugh has experienced the thrill of heli-ski in India, Canada, Russia, Greenland, Italy and Switzerland. When he’s not in the Southern Alps, Hugh spends the north American winter in Alaska, where he is guiding director for Tordrillo Mountain Lodge. His favourite run is Headlong Peak in the Tyndall Glacier region.
